About us

Portfolio is a marketing company founded by Bob Harper who specialises in professional service firms, particularly accountants.



Having been an accountant in practice, and experienced working with over 200 firms of accountants, Bob has developed an approach to marketing called Marketing on Purpose

This methodology is designed so firms can establish a specific marketing objective linked to their personal goals.

Over the years we have developed a way of doing business which we refer to as our business values.  

We feel it is important to share core business values with clients so the work we do is enjoyable.  I know that to deliver the highest level of service my team and I need to be happy and like working with you. These are our business values:

•  Be open, honest and down to earth
•  Always be fair and reasonable
•  Apologise if you upset someone
•  Be respectful
•  Complain (in person) if you feel unhappy

Responsibilities
In any relationship it is important to understand there are responsibilities on both sides.  We can't be a good service provider unless you are a good client. 

We have a responsibility to do what's best for you and this sometimes (usually) means being critical and challenging your preconceptions.

Common problems that prevent us working with firms include a complete lack of understanding of marketing, weak or non-existent leadership, poor team culture, unrealistic expectations and insufficient budget.

To help prevent these issues getting in the way we have resources which potential clients can access.

We only want to be associated with success so we will not take on assignments from firms we think don't have a good chance of turning our service fee into an investment with a return of at least four times our fee

Privacy Policy
We will not share your information with anyone and if you before a customer we will not store your or your businesses financial details.
